Emergency dental issues may arise at any hour, frequently occurring beyond the operational hours of your primary dental care provider.

You can find information regarding:

- When and where to seek assistance if you experience acute dental problems.

When should you contact a dentist?

  • What can you do yourself?

  • Toothache, dental pain, and swollen gums can often be relieved with over-the-counter painkillers.

  • Contact your dentist tomorrow

  • If your toothache cannot be relieved with over-the-counter painkillers. Read more about toothache.
  • If you have or think you have broken a tooth. Read more about dental injuries.
  • If you have the feeling of a 'pimple' at the gum line and yellow pus is oozing out. Read more about tooth abscess.
  • If you have lost a filling, a crown, or a dental bridge.

Only open for in-person inquiries. No appointment necessary.

Open on weekdays from 20 to 21:30.

Open on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 10 to 12 and 20 to 21:30.

You must call and make an appointment before you can be examined and treated.

Appointments are available on weekdays from 18 to 19.

Payment and insurance

  • You pay for treatment at the dental emergency service and at the emergency dentist yourself.
  • Your municipality covers the cost of treatment for children and young people under 22 years old.
  • If you are a member of Sygeforsikringen Danmark, there are varying subsidies for treatment.
  • In case of dental injuries, it's important to report it to your insurance company. It is free to file a claim, and it can be the basis for payment of acute treatment, follow-up care, and any complications later on.
