Protection from infectious hepatitis

Exists in most parts of Africa, South-East Asia and South America. Look closer on the map here. It is transferred from person to person via blood or secretions (for example spit).

The vaccination can be given from birth and should as a minimum be recommended for children, who are going to be in contact with local children, in connection with a longer stay abroad.

It can be given as a shot. The shot is given after 1 month and after 6 months – 3 times in total. Hereafter, the child is protected for at least 5 years.
