The general condition is important no matter what symptoms you have, or what is wrong.
Along with the symptoms, the general condition tells how sick you are.
If you suspect a fever, it is important to take the temperature.
The temperature does not say so much in itself but is important together with the general condition
Some signs show that you are exhausted by your illness; you should then immediately contact your doctor.
Is the patient not awake, alert and oriented in their own data, one must suspect serious effects on the brain. It can be about blood poisoning, meningitis or a blood clot in the brain.
If the skin is cold and clammy, you should suspect a bad circuit. It could be a heart attack, pulmonary embolism or very severe pain.
Dry mucous membranes and lack of urination are signs of fluid loss. It may be due to fever, vomiting or loose stools.
Is breathing fast or hassle it can be a sign of lung disease – such as pneumonia, asthma or a blood clot in the lungs. Is lips and fingernails bluish, there may be a very serious lung disease.
The combination of fever, neck stiffness and petechial red dots on the skin are signs of encephalitis – meningitis. By encephalitis, the red dots do not disappear if you press a clear glass with the dots in the skin and look through the glass.
An awake and clearly oriented person is hardly seriously ill. Can the patient explain what day it is and where he is located, it is a sign that the brain is functioning.
A hot and dry skin is a sign of a good circuit.
Are the mucous membranes of the mouth moist and there are regular urination the person has no serious dehydration.
A normal quiet breathing is a sign that the lungs are functioning.
Fever is a sign of an infection. The temperature does not say anything about how sick you are, but is a necessary and useful information.
Many with a fever will not eat when they are sick. It does not matter, as long as you get liquid. Loss of fluid is seen most often in infants and old.
