Contraceptive Implant

The contraceptive implant consists of a plastic rod (4 cm long and 2 mm wide) that contains the same hormone as mini-pills. The hormone is slowly released from the rod. The rod is placed under the skin on the inside of the upper arm and lasts for three years.
