Supplementary Examinations

If there is suspicion of an adhesion in the Fallopian tubes, an endoscopy is offered. At this examination the doctor can through a thin endoscope see the Fallopian tubes.

The endoscope is inserted right below the navel into the abdomen. The examination can be performed as an outpatient service or possibly with one day’s hospitalisation and is performed under general anaesthesia.

If there is suspicion of polypi or fibroids in the uterus, an endoscopy of the inside of the uterus can be performed. The endoscope is inserted through the cervix up into the uterus.

The specialist also performs an extended examination of the man’s sperm to evaluation whether it is suitable for insemination.
