Subconjunctival haemorrhage
A bleeding in the conjunctiva of the eye is due to a burst of a small blood vessel. The condition does not affect vision, is not dangerous and disappears by itself in a couple of weeks. If you have hit the eye, have eye pain or if your eyesight is affected, consult your doctor immediately.
A bloodshot in the eye is due to a small blood vessel in the conjunctiva of the eye is fractured. In most cases, you do not know why the blood vessel is broken. Blow to the eye, high blood pressure and blood thinning medication can be contributory causes.
A bloodshot in the eye is frequent. The condition does not cause pain or visual impairment. The only symptom is that “the white” of the eye becomes “red” and it can look fierce. It looks like a small bloodshot under the conjunctiva of the eye.
In most cases, no treatment is required. The bleeding disappears by itself within a few weeks.
Measure your blood pressure and contact your doctor if it is too high.
You can not do anything about the bloodshot. It disappears by itself.
If you are in blood-thinning treatment or you can not measure your blood pressure.
If you have had a blow to the eye just before the bloodshot.
If you have pain in the eye or your vision is affected.
